Description/Job Summary

Through a team approach is responsible for the marketing, business development, negotiating, analyzing and structuring of complex agribusiness accounts including Nursery/Greenhouse operations.  Provides assistance on other complex agribusiness accounts as requested by the Chief Credit Officer.  Responsible for recommending and coordinating the purchase/sale of participation loans.  Builds and maintains positive relationships with high profile borrowers and their business partners. Ability to interpret and communicate complex financial issues and industry trends with borrowers and team members.

Responsibilities/Duties

Leads in the marketing of high profile agribusiness accounts with an emphasis on greenhouse and nursery operations.  Coordinates with other branch employees and account officers to provide high quality service and share appropriate information. 

Manages existing portfolio to ensure excellent customer service and retention of large, high profile clients. 

With the support of a credit analyst, interpret and evaluate financial information to arrive at a quality credit decision consistent with association underwriting standards. 

With the support of the Agribusiness team monitors loan servicing plans and tracks loan covenants and ensures appropriate compliance reports are received.  Reports to and updates management on accounts on regular basis

As a part of the Agribusiness team, build expertise in the greenhouse and nursery industry, credit, finance, technology and other needs of the agribusiness market. 

Required Skills

Management skills required including organizing and planning, judgment, decisiveness, analysis, delegation

and control, communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated competencies in credit administration and loan servicing.

Demonstrated supervisory skills.

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION-MAKING

Functions under managerial direction.

Makes decisions of approval or recommendation on large corporate and complex loans. Determines proper

structure, loan servicing plan and monitoring. Also makes decisions on unplanned loan servicing

(treatments) requests on these loans and determines what functions can be delegated to branch office

personnel on routine servicing and monitoring.

Required Experience

A minimum of 5 years of commercial credit experience in an agricultural-related field.

Extensive knowledge of agricultural.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Agricultural field. Advanced education preferred and/or

certificate from a graduate school of banking.

Required Qualifications

Maintains a current awareness of economic developments and production technology affecting agriculture.

Details

Office Location: Preferred location is Fostoria, Ohio.

General office environment.

Travel between branches, customer location visits (approximately 60% of the time) and some overnight travel is required.

Physically able to handle files.
